About The Project
Project involves three key partners: YOUTH PLANET (Estonia), AYCICEGI GENCLIKVE EGITIM DERNEGI (Turkey), and EKOLOSKO UDRUŽENJE ZA ZAŠTITU I UNAPREDJENJE ŽIVOTNE SREDINE (Serbia). These organizations are committed to advancing environmental education and promoting the European Green Deal across their respective countries.
This project aims to equip young people with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the European Green Deal (EGD). It seeks to empower participants to identify environmental challenges within their local communities, as well as on a global scale, and to develop innovative solutions for addressing these issues. The ultimate goal is for participants to present their solution ideas to local community leaders, fostering collaboration and environmental awareness. An additional key objective of the project is to create a straightforward and adaptable Environmental Management System (EMS). This system will be designed for use by local governments, municipalities, and community committees, enabling them to adopt more sustainable practices while promoting public engagement. A particular emphasis will be placed on encouraging youth participation and consultation, ensuring that the voices of young people are heard and valued in decision-making processes related to environmental sustainability.
Expected Results
A total of 30 participants from the partner countries will be trained and empowered to become multipliers of the European Green Deal within their local communities. Strong communication channels will be established with local authorities, and at least three youth-developed ideas for improving environmental protection in each partner country will be presented to local community leaders. Training materials and a comprehensive toolkit will be shared with a network of 500 stakeholders, including youth organizations and local communities in the partner countries, fostering broader engagement and knowledge dissemination. The consortium will develop an adaptable Environmental Management System (EMS) specifically designed for local councils to facilitate their transition to more sustainable practices.
