About The Project

The participating countries are Germany, Turkey, Serbia, Spain, and the Netherlands. The project consists of many activities, both online and on-site, and includes the following mobilities:

A1 - APV in Berlin, Germany (June 2023), where each country sends one group leader and one participant. This advanced planning visit aims to improve the quality of preparation and participant involvement. The youth exchange is designed to be participant-centered, and group leaders will hold pre-departure meetings to review the project program, explain objectives, assign preparatory tasks for activities like intercultural evenings, Youthpass presentations, readings, and idea generation, and assist with home tasks and session facilitation.

A2 - Youth Exchange in Berlin, Germany (October 2023), involves five young people and one group leader from each country. The exchange begins with team-building activities and name games to help participants connect. On day two, the focus shifts to the main topic: music, including sessions on traditional music, its origins, and the philosophy behind ethnic songs. Practical workshops such as body percussion and drum sessions follow. Days three and four are filled with participant-led workshops on various music components like melody, cultural contexts, and test songwriting. From day six, participants begin writing their own songs, and day seven is dedicated to preparing and performing a local concert in Berlin. The final day focuses on evaluation, finalization, and planning for the next step: A3.

A3 - Youth Exchange in Belgrade, Serbia (22–30 March 2024), brings together five young people and one group leader from each country and centers on the topic of prejudices and stereotypes about internally displaced persons (IDPs). It begins by exploring definitions and root causes, followed by a simulation game illustrating how stereotypes are formed. On day two, participants share personal stories, which serve as inspiration for new songs. After exchanging examples of music for social change, teams form to write their own songs. Day five introduces participants to the music studio process, while some work on recording and others prepare for the concert. Day six includes a workshop on distributing music both online and offline, as well as continued work in the studio and concert preparations. Day seven is for final rehearsals and performing a concert focused on social themes, ending with community workshops and a debriefing session.
