About The Project

Our world is constantly changing, and it is filled with a wide variety of people from diverse cultures with rich histories. Increasing interdependence and connections often bring us in contact with people and cultures we do not understand, which can breed fear and intolerance. Prejudice is not genetic; rather, it is a learned behavior. History has demonstrated the destructive power of prejudice and intolerance that prevails in societies. Along with outright injustice and violence, discrimination and marginalization are common forms of intolerance. Participants will have the opportunity to volunteer during their participation in the Youth Exchange, bringing them into contact with organizations and individuals dedicated to improving the lives of others. Volunteering is well-established in some participant countries, but still developing in others, so sharing experiences and best practices will not only offer participants an enriching and satisfying experience but also improve the capacity of volunteer organizations. The Erasmus+ program aims to improve the level of key competencies and skills of young people and promote active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and solidarity as well as enhance the international dimension of youth activities and the role of youth workers and organizations in support structures for young people. The need for this project is through using art as a model for intercultural dialogue to develop a sense of community and belonging. Through art to improve intercultural dialogue and use it as a tool for the prevention of conflicts by enhancing the respect for human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
